Habitat: Coastal bays, reefs, esturies, kelp forests
Age: Sexually mature 6 months, can live for up to 10 years
Prey: Fish, crustaceans, reptiles mammals and birds when possible
Predated: Coastal Leviathans, Fishing Parrots, Larger reef fish

Part of an art project about life in the future (in 10 million years time to be precise). I will update this over the year and this will probably get moved to scraps.

The second group of large sea predators (first are the leviathans, descended from crocodiles) are the sea dragons, descended from the bottom dwelling lizardfish of the Human Era. They are voracious oceanic predators, and with a lack of both large sea fish such as marlin and tuna, as well as a lack of large sea predators such as whales and sharks, they flourished.

Pictured here is a Pygmy seadragon, a small coastal species reaching a maximum of 1 metre (3 feet). It feeds on fish, crustaceans, even mammals and birds.
